Purpose : It is well known that use of intranenous methylprednisolone(IVMP)for the patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) is not only as effective as use of intravenous gammaglobulin to mincrease platelets quickly, but also the former is less expensive than the latter.
